The more affluent Lilongwe suburb typical are build with walled 

yards.  It is not unusually to see satelite dishes in the yard.  

Though none are visible in the pictures there were some insides 

the walls of these houses and quite a few in the neighborhood.  

Malawi also is building a system for cell phones.  It is common 

to see them in Lilongwe. There is a system of antennas that allows 

for continual coverage from Blantyre, through Limbe and Zomba to 

well north of Mangochi.
