Click to enlarge Early morning rising paid off with spectacular views over the mist filled valleys to the hills of the Muko district. The small Muko chapel with its cross protruding sentinel fashion in front of the rising sun.

Objective of the day: ride just enough that the taunting and jeering of the kids doesn’t become overwhelming.

Moment of the day: being passed by a convoy of South African Land Rovers, with the occupants gawking out the windows at us with video cameras running.

Experience of the day: Long, long, fast downhill riding.
