Note for 2015 program: There are about ten main tourist destinations in Ethiopia, six of which are in the north. Our 2015 route visits five of these: the Nile gorge, Lake Tana, Gondar, Simien Mountains and Axum. From Axum participants can take advantage of several options for seeing more of Ethiopia, if they want, before returning to Addis Ababa. The sixth attraction in the north is rock hewn churches of which there is a large concentration at Lalibela. From Axum there is a flight to Lalibeli, and then a flight to Addis Ababa. With a combination of bicycling and transport there are some smaller rock hewn churches that a easily accessible along Highway 1. Contact us for more details.
